Moving towards Connection & Intimacy
People come to group therapy because they are wanting to deepen their awareness of how they feel and how they are perceived when with others.
Groups provide a safe space with a wise and skilful facilitator to support this process of deepening self-awareness.
During my groups we include quite a bit of body awareness and take the space to check in with our internal reactions and feelings so that we can deepen our presence.
Through the interactions within the group we uncover the evolving group dynamics and reveal patterns of behaviour where projection, ideals, beliefs and unconscious past limiting experiences can be exposed and released. We will also be examining core existential fears. This work includes the relationship between the body and the mind as being in the head/mind is never enough.
Groups are ongoing and require a 5 session upfront commitment, after which you may decide to continue or not.
To book onto a group, please get in touch via the contact form below and I will come back to you with next steps.

Practising Psychotherapy and Group Therapy in Seaforth, Sydney's Northern Beaches, and Online
Group work can be very supportive when we are wanting to develop greater awareness of ourselves, the patterns that sometimes run us and what supports our relationships with others. It is a great forum for learning to observe and manage our reactions.
Jeans groups are informed by the works of Irvin Yalom and Wilfred Bion and the evolving group dynamics are where we learn abut ourselves in relationship.
All that is needed is that you come with:
-
A willingness to learn more about yourself
-
A degree of resilience
-
Prepared to take responsibility for the situations in which you find yourself
-
Interest in how you are in relationships
-
Readiness to participate in the group as much as feels true for you.
As an experienced group facilitator I create a safe space where people can allow their themselves to feel and express what they are experiencing in the moment in the group. I foster a very supportive environment where we try to keep our sense of humour and playfulness.
